{1} Water hydrates skin
and cleanse out harmful toxins. 8-9
glasses of water per day are recommended. Water can be boring and we all tend not
to drink enough of it, so instead put a few slices of lemon and lime into your
glass of water. I bet you will drink a lot more if you do. Note:
Dehydrated skin is not flattering.
{2} Eat plenty of fresh
fruits and vegetables per day. I recently read in an article at the doctor’s
office that 1 red pepper has more Vitamin C then having 5 oranges. Let’s not
forget to drink water when eating fruit to rinse the mouth. The acid from the
fruit will weaken the enamel and cause tooth erosion and cavities.
{3} Always wear sunscreen with an SPF15 or higher (higher the better) to avoid premature aging and sun damage. If you are a person who forgets to wear it, then the easiest way is to find a moisturizer/tinted moisturizer or a foundation with an SPF in it.
{4}. Moisturize EVERY morning
and night before bed! There are a lot of moisturizers out there that are
made for different skin types. Find one that best meats your skin type for the
day time and one for at night. I would suggest using a lighter one for the day
and a heavier one for the night. I like to apply
moisturizer to my face when my face is still damp so the moisturizer can absorb properly. Don’t forget to exfoliate once or twice a week, this will help
your moisturizer absorb into the skin better.
{5} Exercise on a regular
basis. We all know that exercising is very important in staying healthy and active.
Sweating is also good for our skin as well.
{6} Make sure you get a good
night sleep. Everyone is different in how many hours they need to feeling good
the next morning, so if you are good at 6 hours vs. a recommend 8 then perfect.
Remember, a good solid sleep helps in tissue repair, slows the aging process,
gives you energy, boosts the immunity, prevents diabetes and makes your skin
glow.
{7} Don't smoke. Smoking contributes to
wrinkles (especially around your lips and eye area) and it depletes the skin of
oxygen and nutrients. It also damages collagen and elastin leading to sagging
skin.
{8} NEVER go to bed with
makeup on. Not only does your pillow pay for it and you looking like a
raccoon in the morning but you will end up sleeping with free radicals from the
pollution that your makeup has absorbed throughout the day along with all the
oils on your face. This will age your skin and cause breakouts. If you are
too tired to wash your face then use a cleansing towelette to get the majority
of makeup and dirt/oils off your face until the morning.
{9} The skin around your
eyes is extremely fragile. You want to be careful and take extra care of
your skin around the eyes. Use an eye cream at least once a day (preferably at
night before bed), don’t rub your eyes and always be gentle when removing eye
makeup by simply soaking the cotton pads in a makeup remover and pressing them
lightly onto the eyes (allowing it to loosen the makeup, especially mascara)
before wiping clean.
{10} Enhance and embrace your natural
beauty!
Sincerely Miss Ash

Ah, I have to remember to drink as much water as I can every day. I always forget/opt for bad sugary drinks and then I wonder why my skin is so mad at me...

Thank you Ashley for the great tips! I ALWAYS wash my face every night and love that fresh feeling :) I am a huge believer in water too. I love the sliced lemons, limes, cucumber, and even raspberries. The fruit alters the flavor and makes you love the water! Great job girl!!! Hope all is well :)
