I just love how girly and feminine this look is. I love to play around and create different looks with different coloured pencil skirts. I mean, you can make an outfit look super feminine or edgy chic with any pencil skirt. These J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirts are so versatile and every girl should own at least one of these timeless skirts to their wardrobe.
If it's a beach/ pool day or your just relaxing in the sun, skip the foundation and use a waterproof concealer instead. You still want to cover up dark shadows, redness and blemishes but skipping out on the base will save you from blotting it off your face due to sweating and water activities.
The thicker the concealer the longer it will last on the face. Skip on the liquid concealers that day.
If you don't feel comfortable not using a foundation along with your concealer, than use a tinted moisturizer instead. This is more light weight, gives a sheer coverage and it also has an SPF.
Use a bronzer with a slight shimmer that has some peachy pink undertones. This will give you a nice summer bronzed glowy look. Apply it where the sun would naturally hit your face.
Adding a bit of liquid highlighter, ontop of the cheekbones, under your brow bone and a little down the nose will give you the perfect summer glow. Don't go overboard on this step as it will give you the opposite affect and make your face look oily.
Lipsticks can sometimes be a pain in the you know what, especially if your at the beach. It never lasts and it always comes off when your swimming. It's best to choose a lip product that has a bright stain that will last longer {without touch ups} and that has an SPF.
If lip stains aren't enough and you still want a bold pouty lip then apply your bright pigmented lipstick by dapping it on with your finger then blotting and then repeating it until the desired look.
This is building up the colour while staining the lips at the same time. When you apply it to the lips directly from the lipstick tube, it's not penetrating into your lips.
Obviously if you are going to be in the sun all day at the pool or beach, you want to use a waterproof mascara. But, if you are like me and you can't stand waterproof mascaras for the reason being they are annoying and so hard to remove, even with makeup remover than try this.
After you have applied your coats of "non waterproof mascara," apply a coat of clear mascara over top to seal the colour on the top lashes and use only clear mascara for the bottom lashes. This will prevent raccoon eyes.
Adding light to the eyes is always key for a summery makeup look. Choosing an eye shadow with a little shimmer will give you that look. Try using a copper shadow to give a little less dramatic smoky eye or use any golden peach shadows.
There are day's during the warmer months where I just want to wear pants and be more comfortable. These pants as you can see, are very light and airy and loose fitting. They are extremely comfortable and great for keeping cool in. The great thing about these drapey pants is that you can dress them up or down and create any look with them. I chose to go casual but it still looks dressy at the same time.
You can never go wrong with a slouchy tee and a cute pair of comfortable flats. I decided to keep the heels in the closet for this look and pull out these flats for a pop of colour. The flats weren't enough colour so I added a pink belt and pink bold lip to complete the look. This look is perfect for running errands in or even a date night.
I decided to do a belt tutorial as I have been receiving numerous e-mails asking if I would do a post showing you different ways you can tie and loop belt knots creating different styles.
I find when you use a "rope" belt, you can achieve a lot more ways to create different belt knots as it's more mobile vs. a belt that is more stiff like a leather or synthetic belt. I like to use a rope belt to create more funky knots and I like to use a stiffer belt for the first two looks on the top row as seen on the picture above.
Thank you so much for stopping by and please feel free to e-mail me at any time if there is a post you would like me to do, xo!
I am sorry that I haven't been blogging as much as I would like to lately. This beautiful hot weather has been amazing and I haven't been spending too much time indoors as of late. The summers goes by so fast that I practically live outdoors during the summer months.
If you don't already follow me on Instagram, you can always find me on there as I am posting pictures daily. My username is Sincerelymissash.
Okay, so I am sure this dress looks familiar to the pink colorblock dress I wore a few posts ago. You can see it here. I ended up ordering both dresses a few weeks ago and was going to decide which one I liked better when I received both of them in the mail. I couldn't pick which one I loved better so I ended up keeping both lol. Why the heck not right? I mean how can you pick between yellow and pink?
This clutch has definitely been making a lot of appearances on the blog lately and I do apologize but this clutch goes with so much and I love how it gives an outfit a pop of colour. I am obviously obsessed with it.
I have had this dress a little while now and I just love how feminine this lace dress is. I can dress it up or down with a jean jacket or a blazer and whenever I wear this dress, I just feel so feminine and girly. If you like lace, then you will love these dresses here, here and here.
Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!
