FOUNDATIONS FOR EVERY SKIN TYPE

Finding the perfect foundation for my skin type has always been a battle for me as long as I have started wearing makeup. I never knew what foundation to wear and half the time it always made me break out no matter what I used. I did a lot of research about two years ago on which foundations work best with my skin type and now I have my favorites. The key is to determine what skin type you have and go from there. Remember, as you get older, your skin will start to change and you might have to re-evaluate your skin type again before choosing another foundation.

DRY SKIN
If you have dry skin, especially in the winter months, you are going to want to use a foundation that is hydrating with a thick rich formula. DiorSkin Nude-Skin Glowing Foundation is perfect for those with dryer skin and it is an SPF 15 as well.

OILY/ ACNE PRONE SKIN

Oily/ Acne prone skin can be annoying and it can sometimes be hard to find a foundation. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr  Foundation, Yes, 12 HOURS will be your next most reached beauty product in your bag. Not only is this meant for oily/ acne prone skin but it can also be for dry and combination skin as well.

This is the foundation I use for my dry/oily/acne prone skin and I won't use anything else!

AGING SKIN

You know those powdery liquid/ compact foundations? Yeah, throw those away as those will only pronounce those fine lines and wrinkles. Instead, you want to use a water based foundation or a foundation like the Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint Foundation. This foundation is going to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, help support sagging skin while giving the skin a little plumping and tightening.

REDNESS (COLOUR CORRECTION)

Say goodbye to redness and hello to a sheer coverage. Stila CC Cream is a green based formula that colour corrects upon application to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation while brightening the skin and reducing the look of fine lines/wrinkles. When applying it to the skin, the "CC Cream" is green but as you massage it into your skin, it will change to your natural skin colour while giving it a sheer light coverage.

SENSITIVE PRONE SKIN

Mineral based powder foundations like "bareMinerals Original Foundation SPF15" is great for those who have sensitive prone skin. Mineral based foundations conceal problem areas without leaving the skin red and irritated and you can apply as much of this foundation you want and it will never look cakey or heavy. It's actually a miracle product!

GET THE NO MAKEUP FEEL

For those of you who don't like the feeling of wearing a foundation but you still want the coverage, than you will want to try the Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup Octinoxate Sunscreen SPF15. Get the "no makeup feel" while wearing a formula that is so light weight, waterless, locks into place, hydrates the skin, looks visible and gives the skin a luminous look.

  4. Out of every beauty product, it's foundation I couldn't live without the most... I love testing new ones out but it must have high coverage because I hate my freckles and like to cover them up! :)
