COVER THEM UP
It's important to look for sunglasses that are UV 400 and sunglasses that are large framed for maximum coverage. Of course, we love to wear stylish glasses that barely protect our eyes, but it's good to have a pair that we can also count on for extra protection.
Before you put on those shades, make sure to load up on the SPF before going out each morning.
ANTIOXIDANTS
Every morning and night, apply an eye cream that has antioxidants in the ingredients to fight free radical damage from the sun and pollution.
USING RETINOL AT NIGHT
This is the number one ingredient that is proven to stimulate collagen production and reduce wrinkles. Look for creams and serums that come in an aluminum tube or a pump, which will keep the retinol stable and strong.
SLEEPING THE RIGHT WAY
Tuck an extra pillow under your head. This actually helps prevent fluid from settling under the skin around your eyes as well as your face. Getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night will keep your eyes from looking puffy/ tired.
NEVER OVER DO IT
Applying too much eye cream at night can lead to itchy, red eyes the next morning and can even make your eyes look more puffy.
SKIN TIGHTENER
Although this isn't going to give you the results of an "eye lift" but there are creams out there that make a noticeable difference. Pick an eye cream that has an ingredient called Argireline, GABA or DMAE. These ingredients will help with the "tightening effect."
PRIME THOSE FINE LINES
Filling in those fine lines a.k.a "crows feet" with a primer is key before applying concealer. Pick a primer with silicone in it.
CONCEAL
Hiding those dark circles and uneven tone under your eyes with a creamy concealer, one that either comes in a pot or tube. Choose a yellow-based shade if you have blue or purple tones or choose a peachy colour if you have brown circles.
Afterwards, set with a translucent powder!
PUFFY EYES?
Skip the shimmery shadows that are bright and dark in colour and choose a matte shadow that is slightly darker than your skin tone instead. This will make the puffiness less noticeable.
