THE BEAUTY BLENDER

I am not one to really use brushes or sponges to apply my foundation or tinted moisturizer. I had heard a lot of great reviews and thoughts on this pretty pink sponge that I had to give it a try.

I was in Sephora a few weeks back looking for a new foundation/ tinted moisturizer as I am getting low on my Origins VitaZing and ended up getting a bunch of different samples to try {will be doing a post on this soon}. The beauty consultant that was helping me asked what I normally use to apply my foundation and I was embarrassed to say that I use nothing, just my fingers {CLEAN fingers I might add}. She asked if I had ever tried the "Beauty Blender" and of course I said no but heard it was amazing. Well let's just say she pretty much sold me on the product.

How I use it:

I put a few dots of whatever I am using that day {foundation or tinted moisturizer} all over my face. I then wet the sponge so that's it's damp {not soaking wet} and I stipple {patting} the {bigger end of the sponge} all over my face so that the foundation is being blended into my skin. For those hard to reach areas as well as under my eyes, mouth, nose etc, I then use the pointed end to blend the foundation in those areas. If you usually apply your foundation with your fingers {like myself} you can also apply it with your fingers first and then go around your entire face afterwards with the beauty blender {dry or damp} to properly smooth out and refine the makeup for a polished look.

After every use, I always wash the sponge with baby shampoo. I know there is a special cleaner for the sponge as well called the Blender Cleanser but I prefer to use baby shampoo as that's what I already use on my makeup brushes.

I really love this sponge and how it gives a flawless finish to my face. I wish I would have purchased it a lot sooner than I did but it's better late then never right? I would definitely recommend this sponge to anyone and it's definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Have you ever used the Beauty Blender and what are your thoughts on it?

  2. I love the Beauty Blender! It's such a great makeup tool! The only problem I have is that cleaning the blender, it stains so easily. Otherwise, it's great!

  3. Glad you love it. So many great reviews on this. Unfortunately for me, I didn't like it. I found no matter what I did, it soaked up all my foundation and made me break out more than when I used just my fingers. I'm happy it's working to you though :)

  7. I actually loved using the blender, but it was so hard to clean and not feel wet all the time...it does help make up look flawless though...maybe I should give it a whirl again. :)

  8. I've only heard good things about this, especially for helping smooth out concealer under the eyes. I want to try it for sure!

  9. I love mine because I love the natural finish it gives! I also like to use it when I blend out my under eye concealer because my concealer doesn't crease when I use the bb. I just wish it was a little easier to clean. I use the beauty blender cleanser mixed with baby shampoo, but I think mine is just stained. Oh well, for how much I use mine and how much I love it, I wouldn't mind buying a new one when the time comes.

  11. I've also heard amazing things about these, and your little write-up has me sold that they're super usable! I'm currently using a pressed powder foundation by Bare Minerals, but next time I go back to a liquid foundation I'll be picking up one of these. My complaint with liquid was that I could never blend it well enough, so I bet this would make a huge difference!
