The Bachelorette Season Premiere Recap

What did everyone think of the Season Premiere of the Bachelorette on Monday night? I have to admit when I first found out that Desiree was going to be the next Bachelorette I wasn't too thrilled. Don't get me wrong, I think she is really pretty and super nice but I thought they would have chosen someone else for the Bachelorette. After watching Monday nights episode, I was pretty impressed and it made me like her even more. I feel really bad for thinking that she wasn't going to be fun to watch. I think this season is going to be a good one based on the previews for the upcoming shows. Keep reading, there is a sneak peak clip below!

Let's take a look at the Bachelors and who got eliminated!

The four guy's that made a first impression on me are the following:
NOTE: My thoughts usually always change during the season

Brandon- He was the one that showed up that night on a motorcycle. He's pretty cute too don't you think? He had a father that left him when he was 5 and his mom struggled with a addiction. He had to live and be raised by his grandparents which made him the man he is today. He seems really nice and he sounds like a real positive person which I think Desiree will love.

Drew- His parents divorced when he was the age of eight years old, his father was an alcoholic when he was growing up and he has a sister who is severely mentally handicapped. I thought he was so down to earth, genuine and I really liked him right off the get go.

Ben- He was the cute guy that brought his adorable little boy on the show. He seemed really nice, sincere and family oriented and it sounds like him and Desiree have a lot in common already.

Bryden- He once was an Iraq War Veteran and he seemed really sweet. I really liked him for Desiree.

Here is a season sneak peak
{Sorry the video is a little blurry. I couldn't find a better one}

By the looks of that clip, I think it's going to be a really intense season!!
CAN'T WAIT!!
What are your thoughts on the season premiere and who stood out the most to you?

Weekend snapshots

Happy Monday!
Guess what? The Bachelorette starts tonight! Whoop Whoop :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a long weekend for those who live in the US. I had my long weekend last week! I really wish we could have a lot more of these 3 day long weekends don't you?

 My boyfriend and I decided to take the roofs off and go for a long drive on Sunday which we always love to do. We love going on road trips and not knowing where we are going to end up. To us those are the best drives.

While on our drive I had to pick up one of my favorite summer drinks which is an Iced Coffee {with milk} from Tim Hortons. It was so yummy!!

There was a Robins nest in one of the the bushes in the front of my house. Finally they are out and ready to fly away.
They are so cute...

This little guy was my favorite. Look at those little white hairs on his head, he was too cute..

Lately I have been obsessed with Baileys and Vanilla Ice Cream as a dessert. I normally put one to two tablespoons over my ice cream or maybe three or four, who's actually counting anyways?
YOU MUST try it!

After getting to the movies 20 minutes early and finding out the movie was completely sold out and then waiting another hour until the next movie, we finally saw Hangover Part III!!
It was flipping hilarious!!!

What did everyone do over the weekend?
 Have a lovely day!

Benefits of brushing your hair regularly

Image via Pinterest

 I always knew the benefits of brushing my hair and the importance of it in keeping my locks looking healthy. As mentioned in my last post here, I never use to brush my hair as I was afraid of my hair breaking. Now that I have a brush that I love (and not afraid of using for that matter) I can honestly say I now love brushing my hair. For those who don't really know the benefits and the importance of brushing your hair, then keep reading.

{1} Choose the right brush for your hair type- Those with finer hair would need a brush that is more gentle on the hair while those who have thicker and coarser hair would need a stronger brush or a blend of synthetic and natural fibers.

{2} Brushing your hair stimulates micro-circulation and therefore relaxes your scalp- It also removes any impurities it has accumulated during the day. Brushing your hair is also a way of adding life and volume as long as you brush it properly.

{3} Never untangle or brush your hair when your hair is wet- Well let's face it, we all tend to comb our hair when we first get out of the shower, I know I do but our hair is very flexible when damp, and brushing it can make it break. A wide tooth comb is a great option to prevent breakage. To untangle your hair without causing any damage, make sure you start combing gently at the ends of the hair and work your way up.

{4} Brushing your hair regularly can make your hair appear more shiny- Combing your hair properly can activate the natural oils secreted by the hair oil glands and as you brush your hair the oils are being distributed from the root to the ends of the hair.

{5} Brush your hair less not more- Brushing your hair with vigorous, powerful strokes damages it. Keep brushing and styling to a minimum.

{6} Wait until your hair is almost dry before using a brush to style it-  It is simply easier to style slightly damp hair than it is wet and it is less damaging as well.

{7} It removes accumulated dirt and sebum-  If you think about it, we apply a lot of products (chemicals) to our hair and it often remains in our hair causing it to feel rough and hard to detangle. Combing regularly can make sure locks are free from deposits and it stimulates hormone secretion. This makes you hair grow properly.

Make Your Hairbrush Last!
There are a lot of different priced brushes out there while some being really expensive. Expensive or not why not take care of it as long as you can? Do this by regularly removing all of the hair that gets stuck in the brush and clean it once a month with warm water and a small amount of shampoo (baby shampoo is a great option).

The following products below are some amazing brushes/combs and shampoo's/conditioners that I highly recommend and they are also some products that I currently use as well!

The Boar Bristle Brush

Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend.

I recently went to my hair salon and like everyone, I always like to ask a lot of questions and what products would be best for my hair etc... I was telling my hair colourist that my hair is naturally pretty oily and that I have to wash my hair every other day. There is just no way I can go any longer without washing my hair then that. I thought at this point she was going to ask me what products I use on my hair, but instead she asked me if I comb my hair, how frequently and what do I use to comb it with.

Ok so before I go on I have a confession to make!
I don't comb my hair and I never have. Yes, you read that right. The only time I will comb my hair is if I have just washed it. I guess I can honestly say that the reason why I never have was because I was always afraid that my hair would break due to the fact that I have thinner hair and that it is coloured treated.

She told me one of the best brushes to use is a natural boar bristle brush!
 So I went to Sally's and decided to pick up the Hot N Silky Boar Bristle Oval Cushion Brush.  I chose to get this one because it seemed a little softer than some of the others and it was cheaper.

What is so great about this brush?
The Boar bristles distribute the natural oils throughout your hair. Instead of the oils sitting at the crown of your head or along your hair line, the boar bristles allow the oils to be distributed down the hair shaft to the ends of the hair where the hair is normally "dryer" which allows your natural oils to be absorb in and give shine. It also minimizes breakage, split ends, and it's great for detangling. This brush is also great for people who have thick coarse hair.

I have been using this brush for just over a week and I can honestly say that I really like this brush a lot. I am not scared to use this brush like some of the other plastic or wire brushes that can be too rough on your hair. It's very gentle and I have seen a difference with the oils in my hair. The day I don't wash my hair, my hair doesn't look as oily at the crown of my head or along the hair line and my hair does look more shiny especially on the ends.

I am really glad that I purchased this brush {I am sure my hair loves me for it also lol} and I would really recommend this brush to anyone. I hope this information was helpful.

 Have a lovely day!

Favorite Skin Care Products

One thing that you will get to know about me is that I am obsessed about Skin Care and taking care of my skin! I believe that taking care of our skin is very important in preventing a lot of things down the road. I don't think I need to go too far in detail as I'm sure you know what the pros and cons are.

When I started 9th grade, my mom had told me that I was at an age where I should start looking after my skin and start using face creams and always had me wear high SPF sunscreens. Growing up I was lucky that I didn't have a lot of breakouts but I did have dry skin. Now that I am in my mid 20's my skin has changed and I am more normal to oily and sometimes dry. I am prone to more breakouts now than I ever have and my skin is sensitive to most products. I have used a lot of products from Clean and Clear to Oxy wipes to Proactive. I was never happy with any of these products until I came across this amazing Skin Care Line.

It's all organic, handmade in Hungary, cruelty free and their products are full of antioxidants, vitamins, electrolytes, Q10 and much more. It is formulated without parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate and other harsh chemicals.
Here is what I am currently using and loving:

{1} Cleanser
Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser
{For sensitive skin that is prone to redness}

Sephora Face Complexion Brush
{I use this brush once a day at night time to properly remove all makeup, dirt/oil off my face by simply putting my cleanser on the bristles and moving it all around my face in circular motion}

  {2} Exfoliant
Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoiliant with Lactic Acid
{This is a powder exfoliant that has to be mixed with either water or a cleanser for it to lather. This stuff is amazing}

 {3} Toner
Stone Crop Hydrating Mist for Normal to Dry Skin
{I use this in the colder months}

Lime Refresh Tonique for Normal to Oily Skin
{I use this in the warmer months}

{4} Eye Care
Wild Plum Eye Cream
{Reduces the look of dark circles and reduces the appearance of wrinkles}

{5} Moisturizer
Eight Greens Whipped Moisturizer for Normal to Dry, Hormonal Skin

{6} Masque
Clear Skin Probiotic Masque for Oily to Normal, Acne Prone Skin
{I use this once to twice a week for 20-30 minutes}

I have nothing but good things to say about this Skin Care Line and I have seen a big difference in my skin since I started using these products. I have been using Eminence for almost two years now and my skin just absolutely loves these products. I'd be lying if I said I don't breakout anymore. I do, and I get the odd breakouts here and there but my skin feels softer, brighter and knowing that I am putting "Organic" ingredients on my skin makes me feel that much better about my skin care routine.

 I purchase these products at a Spa that's close to my home but I know you can purchase these products on Amazon. Unfortunately you can't purchase their products on their website but you can view all of their products here. There is a phone number on the website that you can call and they will tell you where you can purchase these products closest to you.

What are your favorite skin care products?

Thank you so much for reading :)

10 Reminders for Beautiful Skin

Image via Pinterest

{1} Water hydrates skin and cleanse out harmful toxins.  8-9 glasses of water per day are recommended. Water can be boring and we all tend not to drink enough of it, so instead put a few slices of lemon and lime into your glass of water. I bet you will drink a lot more if you do.  Note: Dehydrated skin is not flattering.

{2} Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables per day. I recently read in an article at the doctor’s office that 1 red pepper has more Vitamin C then having 5 oranges. Let’s not forget to drink water when eating fruit to rinse the mouth. The acid from the fruit will weaken the enamel and cause tooth erosion and cavities.

{3} Always wear sunscreen with an SPF15 or higher (higher the better) to avoid premature aging and sun damage. If you are a person who forgets to wear it, then the easiest way is to find a moisturizer/tinted moisturizer or a foundation with an SPF in it.

{4}. Moisturize EVERY morning and night before bed!  There are a lot of moisturizers out there that are made for different skin types. Find one that best meats your skin type for the day time and one for at night. I would suggest using a lighter one for the day and a heavier one for the night. I like to apply moisturizer to my face when my face is still damp so the moisturizer can absorb properly. Don’t forget to exfoliate once or twice a week, this will help your moisturizer absorb into the skin better.

{5} Exercise on a regular basis. We all know that exercising is very important in staying healthy and active. Sweating is also good for our skin as well.

{6} Make sure you get a good night sleep. Everyone is different in how many hours they need to feeling good the next morning, so if you are good at 6 hours vs. a recommend 8 then perfect. Remember, a good solid sleep helps in tissue repair, slows the aging process, gives you energy, boosts the immunity, prevents diabetes and makes your skin glow.

{7} Don't smoke. Smoking contributes to wrinkles (especially around your lips and eye area) and it depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients. It also damages collagen and elastin leading to sagging skin.

{8} NEVER go to bed with makeup on. Not only does your pillow pay for it and you looking like a raccoon in the morning but you will end up sleeping with free radicals from the pollution that your makeup has absorbed throughout the day along with all the oils on your face. This will age your skin and cause breakouts.  If you are too tired to wash your face then use a cleansing towelette to get the majority of makeup and dirt/oils off your face until the morning.

{9} The skin around your eyes is extremely fragile.  You want to be careful and take extra care of your skin around the eyes. Use an eye cream at least once a day (preferably at night before bed), don’t rub your eyes and always be gentle when removing eye makeup by simply soaking the cotton pads in a makeup remover and pressing them lightly onto the eyes (allowing it to loosen the makeup, especially mascara) before wiping clean.

{10} Enhance and embrace your natural beauty!

A little rant...

Hey lovelies!

Can you believe it's mid week already? Ah it's crazy how some weeks go by faster than others..
Anyways, I thought I would pop on here and do a quick look of the day.

Top- {Sold out}Similar | Jean Shorts- {Old} Similar | Watch- Guess | Nail Polish- Essie "Cute as a Button"
I have been obsessed with this nail polish for over a month now. It's such a beautiful colour..

 I went to Bath & Body Works lastnight and picked up this hand soap

 I tend to only buy hand soaps from Bath & Body Works because #1 they have the best smelling soaps #2 they have the best deals and #3 the packaging is super cute. Um can I also say that I am obsessed with their candles.. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anymore candles as I have 5 on the go right now. Their Candles are truly the best.

While watching the Hockey Playoff's last night, I was enjoying these incredible chips

These chips are hands down the BEST! I literally have to pour some in a bowl or I would probably would eat the whole bag, which would not be a good thing. Also with eating these chips I must have a drink beside me at all times as some chips are more spicy than others. Wine is actually a great choice. :)

Have a fabulous day!!
