GIFT GUIDE: FOR THE HOSTESS

When I attend a holiday party or any party for that matter, I always like to bring a little gift for the host. It's not a mandatory rule but it's a nice way to thank the host for inviting you. I like to personalize the gift a little to the personality of the host and what they may typically like in general.

With family and holiday parties on it's way, I am sure that one of these gift's will impress your host.

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

WISH LIST {1}

http://rstyle.me/~10Qkp

Christmas is just around the corner and there are a lot of goodies that I have my eyes on.
Note: {To my boyfriend who is reading this, these are just a few idea's. I will be posting more from now until Christmas, so stay tuned} lol.

My boyfriend reads my blog all the time {love him and how he actually reads and supports my blog, he's such a cutie} and instead of me writing him a wish list or mentioning what I want by word of mouth {which isn't always the best way} I thought this would be much much easier!

Thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

POP OF YELLOW

Sweater- Jacob {Old} Similar || Long Sleeve Sweater- Old Navy || Pants- Guess {Old} Similar || Boots- Ugg || Beanie- Target || Lips- MAC

Like every Sunday, it's a day for me to dress down and be cozy. It has been freezing here and I had to bust out the Uggs earlier than I anticipated. I bought these Uggs two years ago and I still absolutely love them. I love that they are different from the "original" Ugg boot as these are dressier and a lot warmer. These boots are leather with fur lining with an adjustable buckle strap to make it tighter around the ankle as the boot stretches with wear. I do have to spray these boots a few times a year to protect them against the snow and slush but that's with any boot that you care about.

I paired these boots with my Guess jeans, and two sweaters. I wore my Old Navy long sleeve underneath this sweater as the sleeves aren't long enough to keep me warm, so I layered the two. When it comes to the winter, it's a must to still keep colour in my outfits, whether it's clothing or accessories. It makes me feel better during the colder months and who doesn't like a pop of colour from time to time? When I seen this beanie at Target I totally fell in love with the colour and had to have it as I am beanie obsessed.

Have a lovely day and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

Happy Friday!!

Plaid, lace and cable knit sweater's have definitely been on repeat lately. I paired this dress with my plaid top and sweater over top of it, along with my riding boots which I think is the perfect touch in completing this look. I am totally OBSESSED with this outfit and I can't wait to style this dress differently with other sweaters and boots. I really love wearing my dresses in different way's other than just wearing it as a dress. Plus, being creative and thinking of new way's I can style my outfits with clothing I already own is a always a bonus and a tone of fun!

Thank you so much for following and reading my blog. I love reading all of your comments and enjoy writing you all back through E-mail.

VEST OBSESSED

Sweater- H&M {Sold Out} love this and this || Jeans- Guess || Boots- Aldo {Old} Similar || Belt- H&M || Vest- Old Navy || Sunglasses- Rayban || Lips- MAC || Nails- Essie Fifth Avenue

When it comes to fall and winter I love to wear vests with a heavy knit sweater or a light sweater. I had been looking for a vest for a long time but all the ones that I ended up finding were the shiny/ slushy material vests, which I do like but I wanted to find one that was soft and a little more dressy. When I came across this one from Old Navy I knew this had been the one that I had been looking for. It has a zipper as well as buttons which I love and it's grey which will go with pretty much anything. This vest believe it or not is super warm and comfortable and affordable.

I dressed this look up with riding boots, a cable knit sweater and a red lip but I also love to dress this vest down as well. You can see that post here.

Do you like to wear vests just as much as I do?

Have an amazing day and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

CURRENT DAILY MAKEUP ROUTINE

 Good Morning!

I haven't done a "current daily makeup routine" in ages so I thought it was time to do one now.
My makeup routine changes so much as I get tired of the same old thing but since the colder months are approaching, my makeup routine will definitely be changing.
Stay tuned for that post!

FACE

After I have applied my daily moisturizer from washing my face prior, I will then use my MAC concealer in NC20 and apply it to any blemishes and spots that I want to cover. Once I have finished with that, I will apply my Make Up For Ever HD under eye concealer before applying MAC's SkinFinish Natural foundation. If you are using a powder foundation, you will want to add your concealer first before powder, if you do it the other way around then you will look a little funky, TRUST ME it's not a pretty look.

Once I have applied my powder foundation, I will then apply Nars Laguna bronzer to the hollows of my cheeks, along the hairline, a dusting down my nose and along the jawline/ neck. I then apply MAC Pink Swoon blush to the apples of my cheeks and a little dusting on my nose. This color is gorgeous and looks amazing on any skin tone.

EYES

Can I just say that I absolutely love this palette? Urban Decay seriously has one the best eye shadow palettes ever and the formulation of them is amazing also.

Before I apply any eye shadow to my lids, I will ALWAYS apply Urban Decay Primer Potion first. This stuff is seriously my holy grail product and I really couldn't live without it. It's legit and works amazing!!

I have been wearing:
- The colour "Tease" all over my lid and in the crease of my eye
- The colour "Busted" in the crease and the outer corner of the eye and I also bring this colour down to my lower lash line as well.
- The colour Foxy and Bootycall {mixing the two together} applied to the inner corner of the eye and brow bone.
- I then add Sephora's Eyeliner in Gri Gri on the top lash line only and then I apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes

I then lightly fill in my brows with Revlon's Brow Fantasy in Dark Blonde. I have been using this product for over a year and it's seriously the perfect shade for my brows and it's cheap which is a bonus! I also love the fact that it comes with a tinted brow gel as well to make your brows even more polished.

LIPS

Now this changes almost everyday as I feel like wearing different colours all the time but since the weather is changing, my lips are becoming a little drier. I have been resorting to Fresh's Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15. It has a slight rose colour which is perfect for everyday wear and it's extremely moisturizing. There are several different colours to choose from but this one is one of my favorites. I want to get a few more colours and will definitely be adding them to my wishlist for Christmas, they are the best!

If you would like me to do my date night/ weekend makeup routine, then let me know and I will do one!

Have a great week everyone and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!

Skulls and leather. Yes please!
I have this slight obsession when it comes to skulls, especially paired with leather. The two together is kind of bad ass which I love!! I am such a girly girl but sometimes I like to dress edgy but making it still look chic. This look is one of my favorite outfits to wear lately and I love wearing different graphic tee's with this jacket also. This outfit paired with some black pumps looks killer or even black boots/booties. Which will bring me to another outfit post, so stay tuned. :)

Have an amazing weekend and thank you so much for all of your sweet comments, it really means a lot, xo!!

HOW TO APPLY SELF TANNER

http://sincerelymissashley.blogspot.ca

GET THE IMPORTANT STUFF DONE FIRST

If you need to get a wax, shave your legs or even get a manicure/ pedicure, do any of these first before self-tanning. This is crucial as any of these can remove the self-tanner once it has been applied.

EXFOLIATE

Another important step before self- tanning is to exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. This is so important as self-tanner sinks into dry skin leaving you looking patchy and uneven, um gross!
Using an exfoliating puff or body wash, exfoliate your whole body and wherever you are more dry focus more on those areas like the elbows, knees etc.
Don't forget to exfoliate your face as well with a gentle exfoliating cleaner or with a Clarisonic.

DRYING OFF

This one is obvious but make sure when you get out of the shower or bath to wait 10 minutes until you are 100% dry before applying the self-tanner.

SKIN SHOULD BE MOISTURIZED

Even though you want to be 100% dry, you will also want to add a little bit of moisturizer back into your skin before you self tan. Apply a lightweight lotion around your nose, knees, elbows, ankles and any other area on your body that is dry. This will prevent the areas from looking orange or dark once the self-tanner has been applied.

PICKING THE SELF-TANNER

There are a tone of different self tanners on the market these days from mousse formulas, to sprays and even gels. Mousses tend to be the easiest to rub in as sprays are great for those hard to reach areas. Choose a self-tanner to your skin tone not what you want as your desired look. Go with a light to medium self-tanner if you have fair skin and a dark formula if you have olive skin. Remember, if you chose a formula that is a "gradual self-tanner" it can take up to two to four applications to reach the right shade.

I did a post on my favorite self-tanners, you can read all about it here.

START AT THE BOTTOM AND WORK YOUR WAY UP

This is the technique that I like to start with but you can choose whatever way you want. With clean hands or latex gloves {which is what I use}, smooth on the self-tanner in circular motions. Start at your ankles {feet} and work your way up to your shoulders to prevent any weird lines or marks when you are bent over. Save your arms and hands for last.

TAKE IT EASY ON YOUR FACE

Dab on a dime size amount where you would naturally tan. Your forehead, the apples of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and your chin, all blending outward with your fingertips {I would be using latex gloves for this one}. Be extra careful around your nose and above your lip as these areas tend to be drier. Whatever is left, apply along the hairline and past your jaw line.

DRYING TIME

If the product say's to wait ten minutes to dry, I would wait fifteen. Always wait a little longer than what the product say's.

**A little trick that I like to do is to add baby powder all over my body where I have applied the self-tanner. This trick is to prevent the tanner from transferring onto my clothes**

Always wait 6-8 hours before having a shower and during this time you shouldn't be sweating either, save the gym for later.

 CLEANING IT UP

We always make mistakes. If you have any streaks or splotches, rub half of a lemon on the area for a few minutes before removing with a damp cloth. It works like a charm!

MAINTAINING IT

You can't predict how long self-tanner will technically last but certain measures can prolong it. Use a gentle body wash and make sure your skin is always moisturized. Using acne creams or harsh chemicals will dissolve the colour on your face.
Once you're ready to refresh the tan, begin with exfoliating and repeat all the steps.

Now that the colder months are approaching, most of us are going to start self-tanning. With the simple steps above, you can be assured that your tan will look amazing!!!

What are your favorite self-tanners?

 Good Morning!!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a tone going on this past week that I took this weekend to do absolutely nothing. Sunday I wore my Guess jeans, sneakers and this sweater that I got from Old Navy. I love that I can either wear this sweater undone or buttoned up to give outfits a different look. I kept my accessories to a minimum and just wanted to be comfy.

Have a great Monday and thank you so much for reading, xo!!

BLAZERS AND BOOTS

Top- American Eagle | Blazer- H&M | Jeans- Guess | Belt- H&M | Boots- Aldo | Necklace- Aldo | Sunglasses- Raybans

Happy Friday!!

Instead of wearing a coat, I have been taking advantage of this semi-cold weather and have been resorting to blazers instead. I have always loved the look of blazers and boots together, especially riding boots. I chose to go a little casual but dressy by adding a red lip to glam up the look a little. I kept my hair straight for simplicity {my hair is naturally this straight and I don't straighten my hair at all} which can be a pro and a con. I will talk to you all about it in another post.

This is a look that I have been wearing a lot lately by switching up different tee's/ colours and adding booties or combat boots instead of the riding boots. Blazers are so universal and can be dressed up or down which is perfect for any look you are trying to achieve.

I hope you all have a great weekend and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

DO'S AND DONT'S FOR DATE NIGHT MAKEUP

http://sincerelymissashley.blogspot.ca

DON'T TAKE RISKS

This is definitely not the night to experiment with your makeup or dying your hair the night of. Instead, stick to the basics and do what you normally do. Change up a lip color and perhaps do a winged out eye but don't over do it, especially if you haven't done a certain look before.

DO CHOOSE A NATURAL LIP SHADE

You want to be wearing a neutral lip so you are still wearing the lipstick by the end of the night, not him. Stay away from dark or red lips and choose a pale pink or nude lipstick/ gloss.

DON'T OVERDO THE PERFUME

Pick a fragrance that isn't too strong. Choosing a scent that is light and fresh is always a safe way to go, plus he might not like perfume {strong perfume that is}.

 DO PICK A SIMPLE HAIRSTYLE

Pick a hairstyle that is not over done but easy to do. A side braid, beachy waves, a cute ponytail is a great option. Don't do a hairstyle that is complicated or that you haven't tackled before. Ideally, you want to wear your hair down for more of a natural, relaxed and put together look.

DON'T OVERDO ANYTHING

For any date night, less is always more. Ease up on the bronzer and the bold lips and keep everything subtle and natural.

DO REMEMBER

Don't forget to brush your teeth, no one likes bad breath!! Also, don't forget the antiperspirant.
 Enough said!!!

**My ideal date night makeup look is usually a neutral eye with winged out liner, a darker pink lipstick {but not too bold}, a little bit of blush and a light dusting of bronzer. I usually like to have beachy waves or have my hair half up half down, something that is subtle and not over done. Sometimes my date night looks change but majority of the time I stick with the description above. Just remember to show off your natural beauty and wear whatever is comfortable for you.
Keep smiling as a smile is the prettiest thing you can wear!!

What is your ideal date night look?

Have a lovely day and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

WEEKEND CASUAL WEAR

Good Morning!

It is starting to get really cold here where I live but I refuse to wear a coat just yet. I just hate driving around and walking a mall with a coat on, it's so annoying and so uncomfortable and if I can hold off a little longer than I am a happy girl lol. So this weekend I decided to wear a light sweater {with a tank underneath to keep me a little warmer}, my beanie, a polka dot scarf and combat boots. Every Sunday I usually always dress casual and comfortable for a day just to relax and do nothing but still looking cute at the same time. Why not right?

Do you like to dress up on Sunday's or do you like to dress down and use Sunday as your relax day?

Have an amazing week and thank you so much for stopping by, xo!!

PONYTAIL'S AND SWEATERS

Top- American Eagle | Sweater- Abercrombie & Fitch {Old} | Pants- American Eagle | Booties- Old Navy | Necklace- Aldo {Old} | Sunglasses- Raybans

Happy Friday!

Today's outfit is an outfit that I wore this past week. I seriously love this sweater and have had it for many years now. It doesn't happen very often or maybe it does for you, but you know when you buy something so long ago and it's still one of your favorite go to pieces in your closet? Well this is definitely a sweater that I still get a tone of wear out of and I think would be heart broken if I couldn't wear it anymore.

I love wearing my hair up in a pony and changing things up a little. What I love about this ponytail is that it's not the "basic" ponytail. I always make sure there is a poof going on at the top so it's not so slick back but at the same time, it's still polished and put together and you can also wear this hairstyle with any look really.

Thank you so much for always leaving sweet comments and have a great weekend, xo!!
