Self-Tanner Review

It's starting to feel a lot like Spring here in Canada. Yesterday's weather was amazing while today's... not so much. Mother Nature is totally not being fair to us this year. I can remember this time last year when I was wearing shorts and flip flops and had packed away all my winter wear in the month of February {That's insanity}.

I have always had bad luck when it came to self-tanners. It would always go on blotchy and uneven, the smell of some were awful or I would turn completely orange and would seriously look like a Oompa Loompa character from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. We have all be there and we have all had to still go to work or school looking like a total freak! I have tried numerous drugstore brands to more of the expensive ones and I had never found the one that I loved until now. I am happy to say that I have FINALLY came across a self-tanner that does NOT make you orange or uneven or that leaves your skin smelling like a chemical afterwards.

Fake Bake Flawless Self-Tanning Liquid with Mitt: This product is a little pricey v.s those drugstore brands but believe me it is totally worth the money. You can either spray your body then use the mitt to rub it into your skin or you can spray the mitt and then apply it to your skin which is what I do. This product is fast drying and it has a tropical coconut scent that smells amazing. It gives great colour and of course the more you apply the darker you will become. The other bonus about this self-tanner is that when you are applying it you can see it going on. So in other words: THERE ARE NO SURPRISES LATER ON LADIES {Bonus}. Remember those self-tanners where you had to impatiently wait to see the colour transform? Ughh that was the worst and not to mention so stressful!

Fake Bake Airbrush Instant Self-Tanning Spray {My Other Favorite Fake Bake Product}:  This product is also amazing but it is applied a little differently. If you are the type that just wants to spray and go and still be "Even" this product is for you. I will use this product when I am in a hurry and don't have time to use the mitt. This product is also fast drying and has a specially designed air shaft that provides a fine mist as a continuous spray that can be used at any angle on the body, especially for those hard to reach areas. The smell of this isn't as nice as the other one but it gives great colour and you can also see the product on your skin while applying.

*Before applying self- tanner, please make sure to exfoliate your body and face. This will prevent any blotchyness that could potentially happen. You can apply either one of these self-tanners daily to achieve the desired colour and it last's for about a week depending on your everyday life. You can also apply this every couple of days to maintain the colour as well.

I am totally in love with these two self-tanners especially the first one "Flawless with the mitt." I am so happy that I have finally found a product that actually makes me look natural with a touch of a bronzed glow. I wouldn't be writing this review for you ladies if I didn't think this product was enough to rave about! It's simply a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!

What are your favorite self-tanners? Do tell!

Have a lovely weekend everyone....

  1. I've always been scared of using self tanners for fear that they would rub off on my clothes. I really should start looking into them though!

    1. Sometimes it may rub off onto your clothes especially the day you apply it, but it totally comes off in the wash so your clothes will never be ruined with this self-tanner!

  10. Vichy has the best self tanner for your face! It's just like a face cream, that in the morning you wash it off its gradual too, so it's not scary to use. The best one from drugstores for sure!
